When opening the file first type in *.*;
Then select your video.

Then select a small video part, the bigger the part how more time it will take to render and use it in for example a userbar. Also, if you want good help on something, try to explain the problem more clearly.

"i get stuck in the part where i have to copy the video to the userbar"

Do you mean your photoshop blocks or gives an error when copying the frames, or does it not paste the layers from the frames into your canvas?

Try to open as smart object in adobe photoshop cs5 and also remember you can only open video file in extended version of photoshop cs5

When you are in the 'Save for Web' interface. Change the looping options to: Forever.

Hope this helps,

I have a great problem:

Before i convert the video layer to smart object layer, everything is fine:
IMAGE IS REMOVED: USELESS NOW

Then, after converted to smart object layer, the animation background disappears and becomes transparent, like in the image shown below:
IMAGE IS REMOVED: USELESS NOW

Also when clicking the Play button in Animation windows, the animation continues, but the background is transparent. I use Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended with the latest Quicktime Player. How can i solve this?

EDIT: Whatever, i fixed it myself, it seemed to be codec compatibility problem when converting the video file to .MOV .

Anyways, here it's my first video userbar:

I forgot to thank you .Shifty2. for the video tutorial, without your tutorial, most of people posting here wouldn't know to create one. So thank you. :)

Post Re: How to make a video userbar - Tutorial
I'm having a problem. I have my video converted to .mov, I open it up in Photoshop CS5, and no matter what I do with it it always comes out as a still frame! even when I save it as a Gif. Please can someone help me, I know how to do everything else, I just need to know how to open a .mov video in CS5 and retain the entire video :(

Any help gratefully received!

Regards
Marcus
