It didn't work for me. The gradient was above the text and when i created clipping mask it disappeared.
I couldn't see anything happen in the Save To Web EDIT^^ Trying again just incase it was my fault (Probably was) |

[whine]When I create the clipping mask it makes it look, sorta odd i guess, like it should but theres edges, then I change the layer to screen and the whole gradient disappears completely. does the text have to be a certain color?[/whine]
Oh, maybe a white gradient isnt showing up on a white text for a reason.\ EDIT**Yep, I'm just a retard
And I made a special pic just for you.
LOLOL don't ask (And no, I'm not a homosexual =P) |

I keep trying over and over with different bars and I can't seem to get it right. the gradient never shows up on the text (black). I make the gradient on the new layer, and I create a clipping mask with it, and when I move it it never shows up on the text.

I can't seem to understand what the problem could be. Try this: - add the text; - make a new layer above the text layer > hold SHIFT and select the text layer (both the text and new layer should be selected) > click CTRL + E to merge the 2 layers; - make the gradient layer like in the picture in the tutorial; - right-click the gradient layer and choose Create Clipping Mask > switch the blending mode of the gradient layer to screen and using the Move Tool, move it over the text. _________________

I've done that lol, could the problem be me using a truetype font? because I've done this over and over to no avail, and I'm getting very sad lol when you say make a gradient, you mean blending options>gradient overlay correct?
