How to make a fading userbar
Ok im going to make a tut on how to make a fading userbar. What i mean by this is im going to make my first tut, on userbars, on how to make a userbar fade into another user bar. I found this out when i was messing arround with Photoshop CS4. I only know how to make this work on CS4 not CS3 and etc. What we are aiming for:
What we are aiming for:
The basic part (skip if youknow what to do) Ok. First off we need a canvas. Make it 350px(wide) by 19px(Height).
Next we need to put our first userbar into this. Open the images file NOT the PSD file of the userbar you want to fade into another userbar and Select all(Ctrl+A) and copy(Ctrl+C).
Go back to the blank canvas we just made and Paste(Ctrl+V) the picture. This should be Layer 1.
Create a new layer.
Now Open the Second Userbar you want and repeat what we did for the first one but make sure it has its own layer(Layer 2).
This Should be on Layer 2.
The Animation So we have our two pictures we want to fade into one another now. Now we need to fade them. Click Windows>Animation.
On the animation bar make sure the setting is Forever. This is VERY important!
Make Layer 2 invisable.
Where it says 0 sec. Under frame 1 click there and i will select 0.2 sec. but you can select any you want. Click New Frame.
Now Make Layer 2 Visable again. Click New Frame. Hide Layer 2 again. The Reason I have done 3 frame, Layer 1, Layer 2, Layer 1 is so it fades back to Layer 1 after Layer 2. Select the first frame and Click the add new Frame button 3-9 times depending on how long you want the userbar to be visable after the fade. Repeat this for the second userbar but add one more. Next we need to make the fade happen. To do this click on the first frame and then on 'Tweens Animation Frames'.
Im going to put 7 Frame to add but you can put what you want.
Click Ok. If you have put 7 Frames to add click on the 9th frame. But if you have choosen something else click the frame witch was second. Repeat what we did for frame 1. Select the last frame in the timeline and repeat what we did for the first frame again. To see the finished result click the play button. Saving the animation to a .gif You can skip this step if you dont want it as a picture and just as a PSD. Now for the final thing in making this, Saving it! You cant save this like you would a normal picture in photoshop. You need to save it in a .gif format. To do this goto File>Save for Web and devices(Alt+Shift+Ctrl+S)
Click Save. Name it. Click Save again. Now you have make a Fading userbar!
Dont Leech this or i will remove it. It took me awhile to make it! Credits- 100% me(NextToNothing) Last edited by NextToNothing on 01 Aug 2009, 01:10, edited 2 times in total. |
