I've recently noticed a trend in userbar competition.
Animation and video is always allowed. While animated userbars are cool and stuff you should also have at least some competitions where animation isn't allowed from time to time. It's much harder to make a decent looking static than it is to make a decent looking animated. (at least to me)

In the latest beer competition I have seen some cool statics like these:

And I'm actually glad these were respectively 1st and 3d because winning with a static in an animation competition seems nearly impossible because people tend to find animated userbars cooler.

So my suggestion is to have more competitions where only this kind of bars are allowed. Only for the sake of not doing the same thing every time.
