I'm following this thread for a while, but now it's time for a reply

At first, I tought we did not need a new logo, but after I saw kenjilp's logo, I think we should.
But, we do not need to quicky pick a new logo. If we change to logo, it must be with an absolutely brilliant new one

So I think we should give all the members, that want to propose a new logo, some time to create a couple of logo's. If we have about 5 different nice looking logo's we can choose the best one.


PS: kenjilp, can you try to make some variations on your current proposal (star less shiny or ...)? And also try to post a screenshot where you put the logo on the header images of the site. In this way we can see how it looks if we place it on the site. Thanks!

Also if any member have idea how to change some things in logo please post it here.

I think in this one i get the fresh more updated look

That's really nice! A couple of things you can improve:
-the light on the spheres/star should come from one direction, it will give the logo more natural look
-the borders need some more work - put a gradient/texture... (also on the star the border is not "constant" - it has different thickness on each side)
-you could add shadows between the star & the spheres

And I was wondering will the quality remain the same if the logo is downsized (to fit the header)

Yes , quality will be the same because this is vector not raster file. Im using Adobe Illustrator.
